Anyone have any experience with this pack? It's a little tough to find info on it since it's old. I'm toying around with the idea of getting a new pack but I'm completely broke. Right now I have an Alps commander. It's really heavy and not the greatest. I've been looking for used Stone Glacier especially, but also MR and Kifaru. I understand that these packs are probably of a completely different caliber, but b unfortunately the money is more than I'm able to spend.
I see the sitka Alpine Pack on eBay for $200. Would this pack be good enough to hold 30 pounds? I've also been thinking about only taking the bare minimum when backpacking since I always end up taking things I never use. Realistically, I'm only doing a few trips a year with it, none of which would be more than 5 days.

Any advice greatly appreciated. I'm an easterner so bear with my lack of intelligence to backpacks. We don't really need them where I'm from.

If you are not planning to haul out animals with it that Alpine pack would be a great choice. All the older Sitka packs were awesome until you put over 40# in them IMO.

Yeah no real expectations of packing out meat yet. I can use my frame pack if I have to for that. But I figure by the time I can afford to hunt out west, I'll be able to afford a high quality pack.
