Hey I’m interested, but curious whether I MUST use a plate in order to attach my optics. My binos have an arca adapter and both my spotters have arca built in. So I’d rather not

The va5 has a tensioner on the side that can accommodate most arca rails/plates so I'd assume your optics arca feet would work fine.

Have used this pan head for years and it accommodates arca plates
