Is anybody out there using this tripod? If so I’d love to hear your thoughts about it. I’m in the market for a new tripod and saw this one in GoHunts stress test. The specs look good for backpacking too with a weight of 1.8 pounds and claiming to support 22 pounds. Reviews from other sites look pretty good but I’d like to hear from Roksliders. How does it do with larger optics and in the wind? Also, any thoughts on the way that the legs fold up for carrying? It seems like a pan head could possibly keep the legs from folding up all of the way
Thanks!

I just picked up a N-1204X and I’m extremely happy with it thus far. It hasn’t seen any time in the field yet but I’ve got two of the T-025X models and have been running them for 3 years. I picked up the 1204x after my heavy duty Vanguard broke. I love the weight/size ratio and sirui makes bomb proof/affordable tripods!! I’d recommend the Sirui G10 ball head. I run that on all my tripods. I use it with my heavy competition guns, my light weight hunting guns to spotters and Binos. It’s hard to beat for the price. The T-1205x is basically the little brother of the 1204X. It’s just a little shorter and lighter and beefier than the 025X.

The Pan head will not allow the legs to fold up like a ball head but it does offer some benefits if you will be panning with your scope or binoculars. The ball head mentioned above is an excellent choice as well. I would say it runs almost 50/50 ball head vs pan head with a couple of geared heads for target shooters.
As always we will offer you our best price, just mention Rokslide, when you decide. Feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions
Have a great day

I have that tripod and like it.
I have the manfrotto fluid head on it so its on the heavy side...but not bad

I think its better than my buddies Outdoorsman tripod....and cheaper.

Hold the presses. Just got in the new Sirui T-004KX tripod that comes with the VA-5 fluid head. It's small and folds up to fit into a backpack. This tripod is amazing. It is normally $189.99 and it comes with a pouch. We can do it for $174.99. It's an arca swiss compatible plate as well.

Got a link to the specs on his new Tripod?

this is basically the cheaper aluminum version of the t-025X and is significantly less heavy duty than the t-1205x. It’s heavier at 2.5lbs and only supports 8.8 lbs whereas the 1205x weighs 1.8 lbs and supports 22 lbs. The VA-5 pan head weighs 1.3lbs bringing the total weight of the t-004kx up to 3.8lbs

You can get the t-025x which is carbon. It supports 13.2 lbs and has the c-10 ball head and total weigh is 1.9lbs. It can be lighter if some of the unnecessary parts are left behind.

The t-004kx is $112 with the c-10 head from other sources.

The C10 is not anywhere near as good as the VA-5 fluid head. The 1205, which comes with a ball head, normally $239.99, would be $209.99

Both are in stock.
The best tripod in this class would be the VERY Popular Promaster XC525C that so many forum members have bought and rave about. We give you a lifetime no fault warranty and normally $299.99, is only $249.99

Is that pro master tripod only or with a ball head at 249.99? The pro master folds up like most without having to fold it 180 degrees like the 1205 correct? Making it a better choice for pan heads? I’m not concerned with folded height

It comes with a ball head but we can remove it and deduct for it. It does fold 180 degrees like the sirui. Give me a call. I am in today from now thru 6:00 and tomorrow from 9-5
