Single Pin sights

So lets talk Single Pin Sights. I am setting up a new bow (Hoyt Carbon Defiant) and I have everything picked out except for the sight. I want to go with a single as I don't want the clutter of a multi-pin. This will be my hunting bow, for both spot-n-stalk and tree stand. Here a few that I am looking at, please feel free to chime in on your thoughts about each individual sight and/or an alternative single pin sight that I might not have listed. Thanks!

I have had 3 of the 5 and like the fast eddie due to double pin they have and price point. For the money its had to beat at that price point.

I had the Kingpin, but I didn't pay but about $200 for it. I hated it and got the Ultra DS5519, instead. I like the Ultra way better.

I have my sight on a Hoyt Carbon Element.

I really like my axcel accutouch sights. Lots of options for customization.

Those are all great sights. I'm partial to MBG, but really enjoyed the Axcel too (but it's currently for sell in the classifieds, if anyone is interested!)

I have the MBG Ascent Verdict with a 4 inch dove tail mount. I ordered from S&s archery. I recommend that one

traded my cbe tek hybrid for a mbg verdict. biggest advantage to the mbg is pin visibility. i can see the .010 pin on the mbg better than the .019 pin on the cbe. other than that, the cbe is a great sight.

I have heard that the MGB sight have the absolute best brightness on the pins.

MGB Ascent Verdit Pros-Great price, bright pins, easy to read slider
Cons-Not as durable as SH???

SH Fast Eddie Pros-Great Price, Roller dial is fast and easy
Cons-HEAVY!!!!, Not sure I like the dial being on the right side

I switched last season to a single pin versus a multi pin for the same reasons you mentioned. I have a spot hogg father with the double pin housing. I really like the setup because I leave the top pin at 20 yards and the bottom pin is good out to 38 yards for my setup. I have learned to gap shoot out to 45 yards without having to move the pin. This makes me feel comfortable for those situations where the deer is at 28 yards and busts running out to 42 yards; I can still make the shot without having to move the pin.

I would argue the durability claim. I have beat the shit out of all of my Black Golds with zero issues.

Currently shooting a MBG Pure single. Its a great sight but I will be going to the fast eddy single with two dots pin. I do the trick pin and its just to much guessing on the close shots with a single dot.

Well after pouring over all of my options all night I finally came to a conclusion. For whatever reason I really wanted to like the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL and the two pin setup, but I couldn't get past the weight and the dial being on the right side of the riser. The MGB Ascent Verdict and Pure sights have really good brightness and seem really refined but I just wasn't feeling it. In the end my engineering mind got the better of me and I ended up intrigued by the customization and features of the Axcel AccuTouch Carbon Pro Single Pin Slider. Man, that was a mouthful.

I like the ability to have preset Accu-clicks for quickly adjusting to preset distances without having to look at the dial all while still utilizing a 45 degree rear facing tape for precise yardage adjusts. The carbon, vented dove tail is a nice touch and helps to keep the weight down not to mention it'll match the Carbon Defiant it's going on. The adjustments and lock-out mechanisms seem to be well designed and the smaller 1 3/8" scope size and single pin had me sold. Thanks to everyone for their input, it was greatly appreciated.

I guess it's all subjective to your comfortable killing distance. For my bow last year, set at 32 I was 5" high at 20 and 5" low at 40. Anything beyond that for me and it would have to be a situation where I would have the time to range and dial regardless. I see your point though.

It could also be said that the ability to dial an exact distance may assist a better shot and kill an animal that would have otherwise been only wounded...
