Silver price just topped $75!

You never lose money when selling at a profit. But it's easy when these ETF's are in my Roth account. I can sell and buy whenever I want without tax consequences. I certainly wasn't buying today.

Hypothetically question.

If you had several pounds of silver given to you as a gift and don't need the money, would you just keep sitting on it or sell with the high prices?

Sell some, keep some. I would sell 1/4 to 1/3rd, take some prophet, then see where it goes.

Really though, it depends on what you believe. If you think it will keep going up, then hold on to all of it. More probable is that at some point it will come back down, perhaps never below say $50/ounce, but still a significant correction. That could be next week, or next decade. It might have just peaked (probably not), or it might peak at $500/ounce first.

Do you need the $ right now? If not, sit.

If you do then sell.

I needed some money a while back and sold $10 silver for about $45. The math didnt make sense after fees and taxes.

I was working on selling some today when it was $115 a $118 and as I was entering my info to JM Bullions site it started dropping right after lunch. Held off for now but you can blame me for that.

Nope, I don't need the money.
Probably worth more in my safe for a day when I need the money, even if the spot price is lower at the time.
