Thanks for clarifying
Ya that makes sense.
Interesting my Enticer S-TI weighs 8.9 with the 5/8 direct thread hub. So not much more than that the improved/repaired Sythe’s
That is interesting. Also the scythe I received in its ready to run configuration is not much lighter than the Dead Air Nomad TI XC in its ready to run configuration at 9.59 ounces. To my ear the Nomad TI XC is considerably quieter. After a few shots of 6.5CM from the scythe my ears develop a light ringing VS i can shoot the TI XC continually on my 6.5PRC with no ringing. I probably wont recommend or buy another Scythe but so far i cannot say its been a failure. Im happy with it, it was my first can and sure beats the heck out of no can.DA Nomad TI XC.jpg

My repaired scythe with DT adaptor and original end cap was 7.7 oz

Of course, I’m willing to pay the penalty of a couple ounces for a properly reliable can.

Yes, most people, but that's not really the point.
Most people probably shoot 2 boxes of ammo out of their centerfire bolt guns per year.

My curiosity was about the presumably heavier firing schedule from members on this thread, so I can feel better about the deer hunt I have coming up 😂

I hear you but I don't think there's any peace of mind to be had. Some of them have let go on long barrel 308s, and some people have them on short barrel magnums that just keep hammering away with no problem.

Anyone have continuous use on an early SN scythe with no issues?
I have about 1k rds of 6gt, and 300 ish rounds of 25prc, and about 400 rds 223 through mine, it's not failed yet. This was purchased in April 2024, ser# 7893, so not super early, but I don't know where they're at now.

They are well above 25K I believe.

I had about 1600 rounds through my scythe. I don’t remember offhand the serial number. It when I did look it was fairly new, I think I got the scythe in early spring of 2023. All the rounds through it were 6.5 creedmoor except maybe 10 308 and maaaaybe 10 30-06. I ended up selling it locally in a face to face transaction with a guy who really wanted it. Yes, I referred him to this thread before selling it. I don’t know if he’s shot it much or if at all at this point.

If you don't mind what did you ask for it? I have a new in the box sitting for over a year now (sn 14,866) can't decide what to do with. Intended for two 300 rums however, afraid to even take it out. Now convinced I need a Airlock 30 instead so its just sitting in collecting dust.

Yes. I kind of lost track of round count. I'd say at least 1500 at this point. Doesn't remove the unneasy feelings of taking it to an nrl or prs match. PRS especially with that firing schedule.

Mine is over 3k rounds. Mostly 6.5 cm, 22cm. It has had probably a couple hundred 300 win rounds thru it. The other day, my buddy wanted to try it on his 300wsm, I was like sure, if it blows, it blows. The can checks a lot if boxes except durability it seems.

I know the guy so I didn’t try to maximize the sale, he paid me 575.00, face to face transfer so no shipping.
