SilencerCo Scythe Ti Owners: Have you had a catastrophic failure?

Yikes, I’m guess a few more people than they expected started selling back the Scythe’s. I imagine the “value” will rebound in 3-6 months

Is CA then selling these as "used" or "pre-owned"? What does the "gently used" Scythe Ti market look like🤨? I'd wager the supply is greater than demand, but if CA isn't too greedy, I'm sure they'll sell a few.

Honestly, if we could just just buy and sell these metal tubes freely, as it should be, I'd maybe gamble on one for a few hundred dollars from an honest seller.

I didn't accept the offer, may as well shoot the damn thing till it blows. $300 is only a couple tanks of gas these days. How many confirmed cases are there of people getting hurt when these things let go? I think I've read of a few people getting scoped but that's it.
I would have taken 200 to be done with the saga and never think about it again. I ended up getting quite a bit more though.

That's just part of selling used gear though, everybody wants to recoup their loss but that just isn't going to happen with silencers. Look at all the cans in the classified, some are like 100 bucks less than new ones, they don't seem to be getting many bites on those ads. If you have a scythe you either take what you can get right now and jump ship or live with it.

I do wonder why capital armory hasn't listed any used silencers on their website, they have a tab for it but don't have anything there. Im curious to see what a used scythe goes for through them.

I don’t remember, but has anyone ever had a failure with a .223 and the Scythe?

If not, that might be the one possible safe use for this silencer; if so…….

Pretty sure there was at least one on a 22 Creed and a .22-250. None on a .223, yet.

My issue was that I didn’t feel comfortable letting anyone else use it, even though I had a lot of rounds of 6.5 Grendel through it. If I let a friend use it and he got hurt, I would feel terrible. I am very glad I got a decent price for mine.

I went out today and put 40 7PRC rounds through my rifle fairly quickly trying to force a failure. Went quick enough for some heavy bolt lift but the Scythe is still in one piece, only thing that's hurt is my wallet.
Bold strategy cotton! Thanks for report.

I have a couple hundred rounds through mine voted “no” a couple days ago and apparently jinxed myself. Blew up today on the second round of .308 at the range. Weld separation. On the good side, Silencerco already got back to me with a return authorization.

I did that too and it didn't blow up, I put 300+ rounds through it fairly fast and nothing happened.

Did this suppressor ever see any other calibers besides 308? What barrel length?
