Oof. $300 trade in credit for my scythe with only 80 rounds through it. Not a mark on it, box and manual, all the tools. That’s a tough pill to swallow.

I didn't accept the offer, may as well shoot the damn thing till it blows. $300 is only a couple tanks of gas these days. How many confirmed cases are there of people getting hurt when these things let go? I think I've read of a few people getting scoped but that's it.That sucks but not having to worry about out it anymore is nice.
I would have taken 200 to be done with the saga and never think about it again. I don’t recall seeing a failure on a 223. Possibly a 22-250.I don’t remember, but has anyone ever had a failure with a .223 and the Scythe?
If not, that might be the one possible safe use for this silencer; if so…….

Bold strategy cotton! Thanks for report.I went out today and put 40 7PRC rounds through my rifle fairly quickly trying to force a failure. Went quick enough for some heavy bolt lift but the Scythe is still in one piece, only thing that's hurt is my wallet.
I did that too and it didn't blow up, I put 300+ rounds through it fairly fast and nothing happened.I went out today and put 40 7PRC rounds through my rifle fairly quickly trying to force a failure. Did this suppressor ever see any other calibers besides 308? What barrel length?I have a couple hundred rounds through mine voted “no” a couple days ago and apparently jinxed myself. Blew up today on the second round of .308 at the range. Weld separation. On the good side, Silencerco already got back to me with a return authorization.
