SilencerCo Scythe Ti failures

SilencerCo Scythe Ti Owners: Have you had a catastrophic failure?

I remember them saying it had no restrictions when they first came out. Eventually it turned into "within reason"
I wonder what the failure percentage would be, if every scythe on the market, was used on a 18-20” rum for 20 rounds in 5 minutes.

It’s rated for it……

Seems like reports of failures have slowed considerably. Maybe they beefed it up a bit. Still likely one of the most sold supressors.
I'd say it is more likely that those on Rokslide have slowed their purchases on them down to nearly zero. Those that actually shoot alot have either already had failures, offloaded them or relegated to 223 use.

Yeah,I relegated mine to a 223 can. No issues yet. Seems like that brought a lot of traffic to the site from people searching about them. If they haven't figured out how to stop it happening yet, quietly obviously, that's surprising. Or not, I guess.

Well, I’ll do my civic duty after being really happy with mine for almost exactly one year.

Purchased on 4/2/25. Failed 4/10/26.

Used on a 20” barrel 30-06 shooting 125-180 grain loads. Everything from 125 grain Hornady reduced recoil loads to 175-180 grains maxing out at 2750 FPS. Definitely full power 30-06 but nothing too crazy. I’d guess I’ve got 300-400 rounds through it. Plus 100 rounds of 223/5.56 through a 16” bbl M&P Sport III

The front section landed almost exactly 50 yards down range. The shot actually still hit the target at 200 yards, about 4” left of my first shot.

When mine blew it launched the same. 7mm still hit in the shot group. Gun kicked so hard I got scope bite

I know a guy on his 3rd or 4th replacement. I’m not sure if they were replacements or if they “fixed” the original.

What is silencer CO official statement on these?

I think it's "mum's the word"

They seem to be pretty good replacing/repairing them; but not so good admitting there is a design flaw.

@mtwarden did you say they're doing a trade in ?
I have a good bit of 300wm, 308, 6.5, 5.56 and now recently started using it on a 300blk. I keep expecting it to break, which I planned to just get the new version and be done but I'd certainly entertain the option to swap it out.
It's very light and works well IMO, kind of a shame. Lots of good options are hitting the market its looking like while staying in the 500$ range

Something about it being rebuilt just feels more robust. Mine was 7 days door to door. All baffles replace. Maybe even the whole can except the direct thread mount and end cap. Been working great with an SRS brake cap shooting 308 and 28 nosler.
