Scythe Ti owners: Have you had a Scythe Ti catastrophic failure?

How is it compared to the Harvester in terms of suppression?
As far as quietness, it's hard to say. The AB is a little tinny sounding without the reflex if you're planning to run without that. I don't think I've actually ran those two on the same gun. The AB comes out way ahead in what I perceive as better suppression than the 360ti. It is certainly hunting hearing safe.

Anyone using the Scythe extensively on the 30-06? I don’t see it mentioned much (at all?) in the failure reports. Just wondering if that’s because it’s below the magnum threshold or simply a lack of usage data. (I know the ‘06 is totally uncool these days…)

I’m in the camp of ‘bought the damn thing about a week before the failure reports started rolling in. Too late now!’ Also bought a Mathews Lift right before widespread limb failures began. So I’ll take the blame for this one boys! 😂

Not sure if they're still backordered? But I was in your shoes, bought about 12/27 or so, found this thread in mid-January...went back to the shop where I purchased the Scythe Ti and was able to exchange it for another can (NO serial number had been assigned due to it on backorder). Didn't sound like they ever really do that kind of exchange, but just throwing it out there for you. Maybe I got lucky.

Yeah I was literally just about to put my order in at capital. Then I started reading this thread. Man it sounds like customer service is great but I’m now thinking heck with that!

Now thinking the nomad ti xc. I think I have read every thread through out the web looking for comparisons to the sythe. Any last minute words of encouragement?? Or any other ideas? I want to get one ordered but also glad I didn’t.

It sounds like the sythe is awesome til it isnt

The XC would probably be my choice if looking balance of length/weight/suppression for a hunting can now that these scythe failures have come to light. That said, i've never used one and I would guess that there is a fraction as many out there as scythes so who knows how robust they are.

No, it was in stock at the time (capital), so was a done deal from day one. This was late November and 34 pages into the original Scythe review thread declaring it amazing. Which it still probably is.

Really, after months of reading and finally deciding, I should have just stopped right there and taken the win (for the time being). Haha.

I haven't got one yet but my plan was to exclusively it on a .30-06 also. Let me know how yours goes

I bought one literally the morning before this failure thread started after months of thinking on it for my first can, so you're not alone.

Let’s not pretend this thread is an accurate sample for determining a failure rate. Guys are joining simply to post failures here. Obviously they are failing but not at the rate reported in this poll. I’d guess we’re closer to accounting for every failure than we are an average sample.

Oh I don’t disagree. That’s why I say ‘probably still is’ above. Just musing on the similarities between my scythe, my Lift, and my purchasing choices on sporting goods in general 😂

While I doubt we are very close to seeing every failure on here, it is obvious guys are joining to report their failure. When you Google scythe failure this thread is the first thing that pops up. I don't think these results are accurate. I do own one though, so maybe that is me wishful thinking.

The Lift held together (knock on everything). So really, just here hoping someone says they have 5000 rounds through a 16” ‘06, with not a scratch. Haha.

I’m a lift owner with a scythe in jail. You’re not alone!

I think you are definately towards the safer end of the spectrum. 30-06 max loads are generally in the 50s grains of powder, vs the 300 PRC in the high 70s grains. Different powders of course, but expanded to the size of your chamber plus barrel, the energy at the muzzle end has to be way lower for the 30-06 on equivalent barrel length.
