I’m intrigued by the prospect of an image stabilized scope, but I honestly don’t really understand where it fits in an optics setup. Could you explore that in your review?

Considering its weight, does it (handheld or rested on a pack or knee) outperform a mini scope and a tripod of equivalent total weight?

I would also like to understand how usable full power is off a monopod, handheld, and off a pack. In my mind, eye relief would be an issue.

I'm not interested in hand-holding a 3 1/2 pound scope at all, and the lack of high magnification makes the argument for added tripod stability moot; any spotter at 30x won't really shake enough to hurt you too bad anyway.

I do find it interesting and a testament to Fujinon that even 45 years later, people are still using their tech.

I’ll throw a small wrench in the equation. How would this spotter be in a tree stand or box blind looking down long senderos or power line cuts? Does the image stabilizer add value then? Balancing this on a single bar of a tree stand or tripod (the type you sit on) rail.

I think digiscoping would be the most compelling use case for these. Can you post a video comparison on a windy day/handheld?

Really like the imagine stabilized binos. The spotter I believe is more of a niche item for most hunters… heavy to pack in, magnification similar to smaller ultra lite /mini spotters. Day hunts/truck hunts, and guys looking to film this will be a nice piece of gear.

The only time I’ve ever even considered an image stabilized spotter to be useful is glassing from a truck window clamp when people can’t sit still or the engine is causing vibration. Other than that a lightweight tripod is too useful for glassing and shooting to leave at home for me.

Even then I'd be beyond hesitant to hang 4 pounds on my truck window. That's a lot of leverage.

I am interested to hear what you think of it. Ordered one to give it a try. How did you feel it compares to some of the similar power ranged spotters without the stabilization and is the added weight worth the benifits the stabilization brings?

Interested to see the outcome of this. I’m intrigued by the OIS feature but as others have mentioned, it doesn’t seem high powered enough to make good use of the image stabilization.

I agree, I'd like to see the difference of different digiscopes used on this, as some work better on some spotting scopes than others.

Interested to see more discussion on the application for this. Like others have said, stabilized binos have more immediate practicality. The truck window mount is intriguing. Also interested to see if a phone-scope mount setup is tested and if there is benefit there.

When I first took on this review, I wasn’t sure how useful stabilization would be in a spotter.

It turns out in the field it was actually really useful. I found myself using the scope handheld or rested on a pack a lot.

As noted in the review, there are optical compromises with this spotter, but the potential is clear.

It will be really exciting to see the next generation of this tech for hunters.

If only they had made it light weight like the Zulu6 HDX binos it would be a LOT more appealing.
