Getting ready for my first elk hunt next weekend I discovered my ~8yo Sig KILO2K range finder was no longer functioning and after searching this site I came across a lot of threads here discussing the old crappy Sig warranty 5 years from manufacture date (vs purchase date).

FYI Sig now has a a lifetime warranty as of late 2024 which I have not seen discussed here yet so heads up!

SIG SAUER is proud to offer our INFINITE GUARANTEE* on all our firearms, optics, and suppressors.
NO RECEIPTS
NO WARRANTY CARDS
FULLY-TRANSFERABLE
FOREVER

They offered to replace my broken KILO2K with a KILO3K for free, or offered to upgrade to their other ranger finder models (up to KILO8K) and rangefinder binos at a pretty steep discount.

If you're sitting on any broken Sig gear, reach out on their site and get it replaced!

Well that's good news. I had to talk to several people in order to get my sig 4k warrantied last year. the first person did their absolute best to try and sell me a different rangefinder rather than offer any type of warranty service. And that was on a rangefinder that was 1 year old. What's the turnaround time on warranty? Doesn't help much if it's hunting season time.

will see…. i filed yesterday, called support and paid for an upgraded model today and said it should ship in next few days

I swore off any Sig optics or electronics several years ago, their warranty was trash. Went to AZ on a rifle javelina hunt this winter, checked my Kilo on the way down to be sure the battery was good, found the rangefinder was not working properly. Bought a different brand in Phoenix, maybe I’ll try to get the Sig warrantied now, thanks for the heads up.

Ya, my Kilo 2K just up and stopped showing anything on the display a couple years ago. I wrote it off as a paper weight. Then earlier this year I called them up and had a new 3K arrive at my door a couple days later. I promptly sold it and bought another Leica.

Same here, dead display.

The warranty change is why I pulled the trigger on the Kilo10k Gen2 binos couple months back vs the Swaro EL that were about $1000 more.
So far happy and the range finder function is pretty impressive and glass clarity impressive.
I have a handful of sig scopes, optics , range finders and fire arms. Ive had no issues with any of them short my p365 pistols not eating heavy hardcast 9mm stuff.

In my experience sig has the best rangefinders on the market, and there is no close second. I read bad reviews on them and wonder if something will happen to my 5 year old 2400abs. But it’s been money since day one.

However, all their other optics are dead last on the list if I were to ever stray from NF, Zeiss, Swaro, Kowa...

After they announced the change I finally pulled the trigger on the zulu6 IS binos. These things are amazing but the 5 year warranty for 1k+ binos was holding me back
