My plan is for either a 7PRC or 300PRC, either with a 20" barrel. Leaning towards a 7 right now. I think that will make for a super handy long range rig.

The 9 pound rifle is a bummer. The reason I bought and use the Cross was the length/weight, which I love and find myself using more and more now. There are a lot of ways to build a custom rifle with the same options/weight/length for the price of the new rifle it seems. There was not with the original Cross. I hope they offer a PRC with a lighter/shorter barrel for a good price, I'd be all over that.

I guess not. The concept of a folder is personally less appealing in a heavier gun.
A lightweight 300 PRC or 300 WM in a folding chassis stock? No thank you.

I see the factory guns are 9 lbs bare. I’m pretty happy with my 6.5 CM for a backpacking gun. For me, that’s where the strength of the Cross is. Relatively, lightweight, compact, accurate.

Maybe I’ll get a chance to shoot the magnum version and have to eat my words.

Hi Matt,

What's the feasibility of getting a 16" .338 federal? Also, what do you think the chances are of hitting 2,450 to 2,500fps with 225gr pills using a 16" are?

I’m wanting a 8 twist 7mm-08 but haven’t decided yet between 20 or 18”. I’m going to shoot it suppressed primarily.

We have 1 of the 20" 9 twist ones left. i specd it out specifically to handle heavier projectiles and everyone I've talked to has had excellent luck with them. from 162's and 168's to a few folks loading up some 180s.. and no 4month wait.

We also have a handful of the 20" 6.5 barrels left. My current favorite setup on this platform.

We can easily do a 16" one. W've done 18's and I've throught about doing a 16. With the 18" barrel and 210's, we've hit 2550fps. So i think a 16 and 225s, 2400-2500 somewhere should be doable. If you wanna get one ordered, just give us a call tomorrow. - matt.

Hey Schnees, have you had anyone do a 284 Winchester sig prefit? Looks like carbon 6 has a reamer for it and it would give a little extra velocity over the 7-08

Also.... magnum cross barrels are now in the works. I expect to be able to take orders for them later this month/early next. I am so stoked for a 20" 7prc or 300 prc. haven't made up my mind.

Hello Matt,

Do you have any 6 creed barrels coming in? Or an order started yet? Thinking a 20” 6 creed might be in my future.

Also any interest in doing a 25 Creedmoor barrel?

Im pretty sure we have some already on order, but will confirm tomorrow. We can do the 25, there just hasn't really been any interest yet.

Any updates on the 6 creed barrels? I think that’s where I’m leaning. Should I just look to place an order on your site, or what would you recommend?

apologies.. Its definitely our busy season! ha. We do have some on order. Best to give us a call and put your name on one. 800-922-1562

(specifically the 6mm Creedmoor 20" 8 Twist Sendero). If you wanted a 20" 6.5, we do have a couple left, that would ship out today.
