It will be interesting to see if it takes off. With no heavy for caliber 277 bullets or and 6mm bullets, I am not a near term buyer.

Looks like they are embracing the “match bullet” for hunting. Won’t be too different than Bergers.

I like it! Need them heavy for caliber though.

I’ve got a soft spot for Sierra so I want to see them do well. I used them for years with great results on game. But their inability to keep products in stock has moved me away from them. Until they can get supply figured out I’m probably going to keep shooting bergers

I like the looks of them but will wait for some data and specs to be posted.
Based on the Sierra website description these will not function like a Berger functions in an animal. The MKX is made to expand from the tip and control expansion with a tapered jacket.
Bergers the tip implodes creating instability and disintegration. They work but function different.

0:49 watch bullet impact location carefully. They seem pretty average. Poor BCs unlikely to perform as well as already available options their saving grace will be if they end up crazy accurate.

Sierra has always been a very accurate bullet that may shy in bc, but makes up in accuracy.

A 142smk is ugly compared to a berger/rdf/scenar.....etc, but they seem to fly above their pay grade and I've killed elk with that bullet at impressive distances.

We have a match bullet that has proven effective terminally for hunting, inseveral popular calibers.

Hey that’s awesome. I hear there’s a significant demand for those from hunters. Maybe we should ramp up production and marketing pointed at that!

No. That’s dumb. We’re going to design and test and set up manufacturing for a brand new match bullet, and spend significant customer demand capital and customer patience capital and actual literal capital to do it.

It will work way better than the incredibly effective match bullets we already make and have a large backlog and demand for right?

Probably not.

But it will be available in those same popular sizes and weights right?

Not right now.

Oh. But we’ll make a bunch of the existing design until we work out some of those wrinkles and prove to customers we will support them, right?

Why would we do that?

Don’t we want to make money long term having a good product that customers trust they can get from us?

Haha.

I am pretty similar. I like the Sierra Bullets a lot, but like you with the avalibility issues of quite a few calber/weights that I want to shoot it has moved me away from them for almost everything. Hornaday ELDm has started to take over most spots in about every caliber I have now.
