sidearm placement for backcountry and caliber of choice in the lower 48

I was at Kifaru picking up a meat baggie yesterday and talked with Angie about a holster designed to attach to the waist belt of their packs. She said they had received a lot of requests for one, and that she is going to talk with Patrick about it. Since just about every hunter I know carries a sidearm it seems like it would make a lot of sense for Kifaru to offer holsters or some way to attach a third party model to their packs.

Ruger Blackhawk hotloaded .45 colt with a 4.6 inch bbl. in a simply rugged pancake holster threaded on the strap of my ku3700 rides comfy. Often times I carry the chesty puller shoulder straps in my pack, so that around camp I can wear it under my arm out of the way but readily available.
