Shuttle T Broadheads

I’m looking at going back to fixed blade broadheads after using mechanical for a few years. The fixed head I’ve been contemplating is the trophy taker shuttle t. I know John Dudley used to like them a lot. However, I recently listened to a podcast with him and Bill Pelligrino that came out in March 2018 and John said that since trophy taker was acquired in 2016, the shuttle t has gone to sh***. This is making me second guess my choice... anyone experience what he’s talking about? From what I’ve heard this head flies great, is extremely tough, simple to use, and penetrates fairly well. I know blade sharpness was an issue before the black ops version. Anyone experience or hear about any recent issues since the acquisition in 2016? Thanks!

I didn't know Bill did podcasts, interesting. He knows I shoot Shuttle T's. I've heard the new Black Ops versions ding up pretty easily on the cutting edges, but haven't tried them myself. I still have several of the originals with extra blades. I've never had a problem with the sharpness of the old ones. In fact, when I push them into foam for safe-keeping, they slice their way in with the least amount of effort of any other BH I've tried.

Bill didn’t add anything to what John said on the podcast. John just gave his opinion on what he said was the decline in quality of the shuttle t. It looks like there’s a new CNC version of the shuttle t

Its a tiny head.....really small....obviously designed for the folks that are 'bow tuning challenged'
I've seen a few, total junk steel that wouldn't hold an edge.............

Personally, I think you have a couple hundred better choices......

The shuttles that were produced when Arcus pushed manufacturing over seas were not good head from materials or manufacturing standpoint. I’ve seen them and returned them. I’ve shot shuttles since they were tight point and they are a great head. Recently bought a new pack manufactured by Arcus for $20 since they changed packaging for this year and all 3 of those heads spin and fly great and the blades are sharp so I think whatever was going on right when they moved is now behind the head.

Have shot shuttles for 3 or 4 years and the new ones went downhill. I shoot iron Will's now and no comparison.

Except how quiet the shuttle is compared to iron will. I still shoot shuttles and have some iron will to try this year and every time I shoot one it’s like a jet going by compared to atac or shuttle or tooth of the arrow Broadheads.

Shoot the solids. I shoot the vented, they hiss but no worse then other vented heads... I feel like they are worth it. Did like the shuttle Ts tho... Would really like them to step their game up.

Honestly I feel like for elk broadhead noise is a non issue... Maybe a long shot at a jumpy whitetail... Seems like they jump at the sound of the bow tho.

Ok so it sounds like I shouldn’t go with the shuttle t based on the feedback here... I’m not sure I would feel good about the iron wills as they cost $33 per head. I lost 3 arrows last year in Kansas due to the tall prairie grass...
