So I just put 6 new Shuttles on my arrows for my upcoming elk hunt. Pretty much every head has a blade or two with a noticeable wiggle once tightened. Is that common? Seems like it shouldn't be.

Yes sir. There's two washers on each. I've tried one washer, two, switched them, moved blades, etc. I opened a third, older pack and they too do it. Arrows are Beman 340s with standard inserts.

I have a dozen ST heads and plenty of blades to go standard or mag. Should just use those.

I had the same problem with some Terminal Ts, I emailed trophy taker and they sent me new washers and it fixed it.

I use the black shuttles and have seen this on almost every one... it was minimal and hasnt effected it at all. I found the after market blades were slightly tighter and didnt do it as much.

Two washers? Is that something new? I've never tried the Black Ops, but the originals only have one washer and I've never had a loose blade. If anything I have to use pliers to put them in and get them out. I only use the 125's.

One washer is brass, one is steel. I called and got some clarification. The bottom of the blades used to be painted before they were inserted, making them tight. They're now unpainted so they come out easier. I was told to reverse the washers and to put a little wax in the blades. A little movement I'm told is normal.

What the heck is the brass one for? Normally I've seen brass washers used to add enough weight to get heads to 125gr, or to fill space so the ferrules fit in the inserts properly (such as the G5 Strikers in 125gr). But I've never seen them on any Shuttle T's, even the Black Ops I've looked at in the stores. You have to watch that brass washer and make sure it's not up against the blades as it's a softer material that the blades will dig a groove into.

When the Strikers first came out they only came with that large brass washer and once the blades dinged it up, the blades wouldn't fit tight and would wobble and not spin true. So I took a steel washer from some old Slick Tricks and used that against the blades and the brass one between that and the shaft/insert. That worked, but was opposite of what G5 recommended. I still shoot them this way without any dinging going on with the washer, so the blades stay tight. G5 said it was to protect the blades and give a little on hard hits. I told them to make stronger blades if they're worried about that.

I wasn't told why there's 2. I don't get it. I've shot a ton of heads over the years and haven't had wiggling blades. It's just expects with these heads I guess. I'm leaning slick trick instead.

I just purchased another 3 ST 100's yesterday and opened em up this morning, blades are nice and tight. Brass washer is next to the blades.

What's with all the brass washers? I've had several packs of ST's and Shuttle T's over the years and not one came with brass washers.

I just read that again........I guess ST could be Slick Trick, or Shuttle T. Either way, I still haven't seen brass washers in either one.

The shuttles I purchased had the brass on the arrow side. This is how that came. All three packs.

It should definitely go on the arrow side for the reasons I stated above, however, that's just weird that they have them at all. How do they screw on with just the steel washer? Are they fine that way? All mine (125gr) only have the steel washer and work fine.
