I am going to tile a block wall for a shower installation, and the current shower is exterior to the block wall. Anyone have any ideas on a way or a product that looks decent? is there a fixture style that would work?
I don't want to fur the wall out and seal up the fixture in case it needs repair later.
The entire shower area is block, so there really isn't an optioPXL_20260307_213825667.MP.jpgn to build another wall and move the fixture. Any and all ideas are appreciated.

Do a quick check on surface mounted plumbing for a shower. There's plenty of nice looking set-ups.

if you want the easy route, fur the plumbing wall out with a 2x4 wall and add a shower valve (easy) throw some water resistant sheet rock on that wall and then glue these on all of the walls: https://shop.six3tile.com/collections/bathroom

If you really want real tile and want to go through the pain in the ass it is you might as well fur all of the walls out nice and flat and do a schluter system.

Either way, building a 2x4 wall on the shower valve side, cutting your hot and cold pipes and plumbing in an actual shower valve is the right way to do it and really should only take a few hours at most.

I would frame a 2x4 wall up against that block wall, hang hardibacker and bury your valve body in the wall, stub the shower head through it. As a professional, that is only way I would approach this.

Respectfully curious.
