Show off some mulies!

Will really old buck's antlers tend to hollow out as they age? Wasn't aware of that... pretty interesting.
I'm not sure, I have never encountered one like that. The core of his antler looked like a sponge with lots of hollows and cavities, you could probably shine a light through it if you cut one of the tips off.

Going on my first mule deer hunt in October. Hopefully I’ll have a nice one to post up then!

Sounds like osteoporosis in humans. Happens as individuals age, or in the case of nutrient deficiency. I could see this being the case in an older deer that is not as capable of getting the food/nutrients needed when they are in the process of growing their antlers during the spring/summer...

Awesome pictures guys, really appreciate that you share those pictures. I will post mine, when I get my first one.

Killed my buck last year on my last day to hunt. I’m usually one to shoot the first three point I see but passing up a few young bucks finally paid off

Great bucks. I can tell I am going to love this forum. Trying to draw a Steens tag. Only have a few points so have some time to scout it out and learn the country. Congrats to all.
