Well it is a new year and my head is already living in August 25 (sheep season here). Making some changes to my sheep rig and thought I would ask everyone else to show and shine their rigs. For fun add what you like/don't like about it and if you want how many rams it owns.

My new rig is a Tikka T3X SS in 6.5 CM with a nightforce SHV 3-10. Nightforce pic rail and ultralite rings. Will post pics soon. I like the tikka in general as a lightweight rig, The scope is quite top heavy though for balance in the hands. I wanted 100% reliability which is why I went the SHV route. It's basically the rifle that Rokslide built... Owns 0 rams at the moment. Hoping to change that this year.

And as a side note... the rifle in the case is your standard issue T3 30-06 bolted into a Wildcat stock. For 2018 it had a Gemtech suppressor and a basic 3-9x40 Leupold. 7 lb 1 oz in that configuration.

Not sure I've ever specifically taken a picture of it in the field. Maybe I need to get a bipod and a scope cover that says GUNWERKS on it in big letters so it looks better placed in front of a critter?

Nice are you happy with the wildcat? Seems like a lot of work to finish them. They are made locally for me so have been tinkering with the idea of getting one. If you got that gunwerks cover you could sell your rig for $10k easy.

I like the stock a lot. It is certainly work to finish, but came out nice enough for me. It is an exact replica of the factory T3 stock, so if you like the fit of that, then the Wildcat will be same/same.

Another Tikka T3 in a wildcat here. A 6.5 Swede with the barrel cut to 20”, fluted and cerakoted topped with a z3 3-9x36, a flip flop pad and no sling studs. Empty it sits a bit under 6 1/2 lbs. It found its first ram last season, the rifle also found its first scars lol. Hopefully will be adding a billy come February.

That is good to know thanks. I am not a fan of how narrow the stock is in my hands. The tikka is still fairly new to me so I will try using it for a few seasons before I reconsider jumping to a wildcat. I would like to put something a bit more rigid on it though.

Very nice. Did you get the barrel/action Cerekoated? Looks like some wet conditions you were in.

Sorry Outdoorsman, kinda derailed the thread for a bit. 😀 That sheep was my best friends. I hope to someday draw a sheep tag and I will probably use my wife’s savage 7mm-08. It’s small, light, and shoots good.

No worries. I'm just glad it did not turn into an energy vs velocity debate in reference to running over your ram!

For what it's worth, a Wildcat isn't going to be an upgrade on rigidity or accuracy over factory. Those factory stocks are pretty stiff. Really the only benefit is about 8 oz weight and a better "feel" getting rid of the slick plastic for textured paint. Functionally they are identical.

Best field photo I could find involving a sheep. It got a new paint job post season, as that one was getting pretty beat up.
