Should I get a 7mm backcountry?

What kind of barrel life are these getting? Seems like a round this fast would smoke a barrel in 500 rounds.

I would wait.

But thats my style. It took me over 15 years before I trusted the market enough to feel like 6.5 CM was here to stay.

It is reasonable to expect that barrel life will be lower than similar size cases with similar size bores. How much lower? Enough to matter? Im sure Federal knows, and im sure if its significant, they will be reluctant to divulge. If its the same or very close, they would be talking about it.

I am asking the same question - should I get a 7mm BC, wanting the shorter barrel, with higher velocity, on a hunting rifle that will wear a suppressor full time. Agreed, I probably shoot 100 at most to sight in and get used to the gun, then 20 rds a year for the life of the gun, for me that is. Personally , I feel it is one of the better updates to metallic cartridges in some time. Why not up the pressure, and get better performance.

Shorter barrels, with suppressor is my preferred set up.

I'm a fan, and hoping to be a user soon of the new 7mm BC
