Looking on opinions about my soon to be cut to 18" kimber hunter 6.5 cm that will have a tbac 7 gen 2 on the end. Flute, or might it be too slight/not rigid enough? I don't want to sacrifice any accuracy for 2 oz, but this is an ultralight build.
Thanks for any advice!
*the well respected smith is worried it won't be good to flute it due to rigidity. I cancelled the fluting part of the job based on that, but then I thought that there are likely some comparables on rokslide...

A few more details on my question:
-6.5cm 18" barrel was .56" @ 22". Not sure what the diameter is now as the barrel is in N Idaho.
-8 ounce suppressor on the 18" barrel
-no opinions on wether or not fluting is going to increase POI drop or accuracy? I'm being impatient because the smith is about to cerakote it.

Thanks for the vote!
I forgot to add that its 6.5CM, so it has a little more meat than a 30 cal
My rifle is 10 lbs if that let's you know what I think about ultralite.
I would of just had a carbon barrel installed.

What's it gonna save an oz?
Just pee before you head up the hill.

You definitely have a good point. Looks like 2-3 ounces, so I was more thinking balance more than anything with the 18oz mpi stock. I think I found my answer. I found 2 or 3+ people saying they have a heavier can on full length kimber, and one was even the ascent, which is fluted. Chasing ounces is addictive, I need help...
