In December 2014 I took a fall on a mountain and screwed up my back and split my shooting hand open. During this time I didn't do any shooting with any of my bows (compound/trad). Early this month I had surgery for double hernias and have had complications since. So here I am almost 72 years old and have decided to live my life to the fullest. My doctor told me not to do any exercise until this cumming October. I shot 50 arrows today at 25 yards and held a 8 inch group which is better than I expected. Now to just work on my form.-------jimd

You don't stop doing stuff because you get old....you get old, because you stop doing stuff!

you remind me of my closest friend, Jan Uchytil; Jan and his wife Irena escaped Czechoslovakia when it was a Soviet satellite. Jan's 72 now, and was their National Director of Sport, a Bronze Medalist in whitewater canoeing, and a kick-ass guy. We both still ski both Nordic and Alpine, hunt bear, elk and deer, and compete in stinking up the earth's atmosphere with our cigars. We call him "Jan the Bear", so that's the company you're in!!! Keep kicking ass.

there is something very hypnotic about watching a arrow fly especially if it has helical fletching its almost like watching a campfire

Yeah, Stickbows are a sickness. I jacked my elbow shooting too much while getting ready for the 3d trad natl's and its been over a year for me....shot a few arrows yesterday.....and i'm going to take it whitetail hunting in a month
