Short barrels

For your reference, I have an 18" 6.5 PRC 7.5tw shooting 118gr hammers with 61.5gr of RL26 in Peterson brass at 3090. I waffle between match bullet terminal performance, and my personal, extremely positive experience with Hammers copper solids. Both great options IMO

Not that short but had 6.5 prc with an xcaliber barrel at 20”. I can’t remember the charge weight but I was running 156 bergers at 3000 fps

Is that a pretty hot load for that setup? How much barrel life do you think you're getting?

I reckon it's definitely on the warm side. I have no idea on barrel life, it's specifically a hunting rifle, it'll take me years to shoot it enough to wear out the barrel.

I just built a 20" 6.5PRC on a pure skltn Ti. I wanted a light, handy rifle with a suppressor out front. The thing turned out awesome and I'm seeing ~2800fps with nosler factory 142gr ABLR. I'm very happy with how this one turned out.
