I just had a 338-06 built last year, and I'm really liking it. Its really easy to make brass from plentiful 30-06 brass. Its a Tikka T3x that was a 30-06, that I had rebored by JES, then cut down to 22". I've been shooting the 227gn E-tip at about 2500fps. I'm looking forward to giving 8.6blk a try once its out.
