Short Action Customs modular sizing die

LB, do you use SAC resizing dies for .223 Remington? I'm looking into them, and trying to decide on a neck/shoulder size and the decapping mandrel to match. I've been using Lapua brass for awhile but it's getting pretty beat up and I don't see more available. Might take the opportunity to switch up to all new brass at the same time. Any suggestions on a good brass, and based on it's loaded neck OD, a SAC size neck/shoulder and mandrel? I'm not annealing if that makes a difference.

I do have the sac 223 die and use it with a .222 expanding decapper. Bushing depends, but I size .004 under loaded diameter then the mandrel expands to .0025-.003 interference. I also anneal, so spring back is minimal. If I wasn’t I may size a bit more to account for it.

I’m spoiled now by sac dies and can’t go back, no doughnut, they size lower on most cases, and they make it so I only have to be pull the press once.

Only a few options for 223 brass, I have some Starline that I’m still learning. Adi is good stuff if you want to buy the loaded ammo to make it. Berger ammo is loaded in lapua so that’s a route too depending how much you need. In another thread I saw lapua was doing a run soon as well.

Spend the money on the expanding decapper and get the little wrench deal. Sac makes a good product.

Thanks! I'm putting in for the .2220 decapping mandrel. That seems to be the easy part. I think I'm on the fence between two bushings, but will go with the smaller of the two to be safe, and may try a size up later if/when Lapua comes back to retail.

Once my 6BRA barrel gets here this is the die I will be buying for the cartridge along with the SAC seating die. Hear too many good reports about it so definitely want to try it.

I would really like the SAC dies but have stuck with budget solution thus far - forster honed. You can spec them like what lawnboi said - Neck honed to 0.004 under loaded diameter and you can also order a 0.222" expander ball to go with it. Forster's standard expander is 0.001" under bullet diameter so you have to custom order if you want something different.
