Shooting rest for both hunting and range

Can anyone recommend the cheapest quickest way to get a more solid rest that is still packable for hunting. Or do I need two different devices?

With my current set up I can't spot my shots at the range because the rifle jumps too much. 308 tikka superlight. I'm using a hog saddle brand pig saddle. It's the cheaper of their two gun clamps. And I have their carbon fiber tripod which is very robust it's not the problem.

I use the Molinator strapped to my assault pack with a jellyfish for my rear rest both on the range and in the field. For a seated or kneeling option, I use Spartan mounted trigger sticks in front and my backpack in the rear (or a grenade pouch on my LBV). That’s the cheapest and most versatile option, but you can also look at various Spartan bipods and tripods if you need more.

What rifle and cartridge are you trying to spot? How much does your rifle weigh?

Lightweight bag strapped to your pack and whatever you can grab for a rear rest. Ive been using the top part of my bino harness lately with good results. Practice with what youre going to use in the field.

If you want a solid range setup, a good bipod and a sand filled gamechanger is hard to beat IMO.

I use my EXO pack to shoot off, mainly from a seated position, but I can also shoot off it from prone. I often attach a shooting bag to my pack to help with prone shooting, but depending on my pack load, it's not always necessary. I mostly use the LSwild bags, but the UM Molinator isn't bad; it often tends to be a little too tall in the prone position for me, depending on the pack load. I also have trekking poles with the Quick-Stix adapter so that I can use them like an improvised bipod, but my pack is faster.

Curious what you are trying to accomplish? Is this for zeroing, practice, etc? I ask because Im not clear what you are doing with a tripod rest at the range (not common ime at the range) and what the goal is transferring this to the field?
Id think either a standard bipod and rear bag, or a pack and rear bag, is the lightest, most stable thing out there that works both at the range and in the field. Id say its more stable than any tripod mount, plus its a good bit lighter and more portable.
