Shooting bow with glasses?

I’m at the point where I use readers for reading and up close viewing. I have recently noticed I see my sights better with glasses but distant targets are blurry! And I see target fine without glasses but sights are blurry! What’s to do? Don’t like this release and hope crap!
Any pointers from glasses wearers?

That's a bummer. Not sure what to do about that. Made me think, though. I shoot bare bow, so that's not something I'm worried about, personally. But I feel for you, man. Somebody is sure to chime in with a remedy, though.

Is your eye doctor an opthamalogist or optician? The former should be able to help you. Close is usually 2’ and in, distance then is after the 2’. Your pins are greater than 2’ and should be good with distance and readers should not be needed. If that’s not the case, you may. Have a stigmatism that’s causing unclear vision and it needs to be corrected. I’m maticulas about those changes for me for this very reason. I shoot smaller pins now too.

I have both distance and reader corrected vision, and stigmatism correction. In suburban life I use a progressive lens which I love. But I never use them shooting a bow or a rifle scope. They have distortion in the upper corners which can effect your picture and alignment to target. So I use a single line bi focal. Clear distance in top. I can shoot either type of lens with a pistol because like a bow pistol is st arms length and considered distance, and a pistol is straight in front of you and so in the center of glass lenses.

Hope this makes sense

Dang, I am nearsighted and had to start wearing glasses because contacts became too irritating. It works ok, but far from perfect. I always have to make sure my glasses are pushed up or I might not be looking through them when I draw. Are you able to extend your sight farther out? That might put it back in the "focus" range without the readers. I have never tried progressive lenses, but maybe someone else has and can give some input if that might be an option?

I don't recall the brand name I've been using for 15 years or so, but here are a couple links. The solution for me was this concept of a corrective lens in my peep. Now, older, I do wear glasses stalking out west/to spot in thick cover, but from a stand or blind I leave them in my pocket. In all scenarios I have to take off the glasses to shoot.

Just takes a new peep and the lens. Cabelas carries a kit with multiple inserts, but here's an example of a google search brand. Not the system I use but they seem to specialize in this stuff. Some systems refer to a scope, I just use a quality bowsite. With the awesome Dead On Rangefinder, I should add.

I'd choose the compromise lens that gives you the sharpest pin while still allowing clear pinpoint aiming on the animal. You can't have both short and long range in perfect focus, but it works very well with just the crystal clear pin.

you might need to just go see the eye Dr. and get prescription glasses or maybe that's what you have? I need glasses for everything so I can't relate to the readers that you buy from the store, I've been shooting with them since I was 12 and don't know any different. I don't have an issue with the blurry target if it's anything my sights look fuzzy to me and I'm sure it's just my eyes.

I used Verifier peep lenses for a while but then got progressive lens glasses with wire frames and the widest prescription portion of lens that’s possible (Veralux) and now I have zero issues. It took a little while getting used to but now it’s golden.
