Hey everyone, I was wondering what you guys are running for shooting bags? My plan was to use a rear and front bag for the range and to use a bipod/rear bag for hunting. I'm not shooting super far, probably 400 yards at most. Am I overthinking this and should I just get the cadwell combo package from Amazon for the range? Thank you guys for all the information and your time.

I like the bags made by Armageddon gear, like the Game Changer. However they are grossly over priced, at least I think so.

If you are planning to shoot with a bipod and rear bag on the hunt then practice with that same setup. I would not encourage Caldwell bags unless it is their tack driver bag just for sighting in but not repetitive practice.

This is a good and cheap rear bag that is light enough to carry in the field. 1.5oz, $30 and made in USA

Git lite is now labeled spex lite, it’s the same stuff.

Buy an AG, they are worth the extra due to having fill spout.

I still use a pint sized and schmedium game changer almost every time I shoot.

I typically use the lid off my backpack as a rear rest. I practice with it as well because that’s what I will most likely be using in the field.

Bipod, I use the cheap MDT for now.

Git lite stuff and whatever bag you want. You don’t have to go expensive.

Also, don’t forget a bag for stabilizing your side. I have an old small back pack filled with batting for pillows and quilts. It packs down very small.

If you consider weight, the Triple S Pillow 7 oz pulls duty for sitting and sleeping, and works great off the pack as a front rest and to fill spaces to build positions.

The 2-5 Ultralight is 2.5 ounces and is our favorite rear bag among Roksliders.

Our Backcountry Waxed Mini and Flat bag have Git-Lite and weigh a little more but bring more stability.
