alright guys, here’s my thoughts on the Shoot2Hunt scope.

I was lucky enough to finagle one of the early testing scopes from @Ryan Avery and @Formidilosus. I’ve actually shot it quite a bit. maybe I downplayed that a little in the video, but I took it to Africa for 14 days, killed a bunch of animals with it, used at the Shoot2Hunt. got a good feel for it overall.

There’s the whole drop testing side of things. you guys are already pretty up to speed on that, and honestly a lot of people are at this point. so I didn’t spend much time on that in the video. for me, outside of durability, an optic comes down to usability, cost, and the reticle. and the reticle is really the key here. after actually hunting with it, it’s the best reticle I’ve personally shot with. huge props to those guys for that.

Is there some insane, game-changing feature where I can tell you you’re crazy if you don’t buy one? no. not really. but when you factor in the price point and everything else, I don’t have much bad to say. I do have a small critique on the illumination. Part personal preference, probably just me reaching a bit to find something I didn’t love.

If that reticle speaks to you, it’s gonna be hard to pass up.

*note I did say one thing incorrect. the box 1mil x 1 mil, not .5mil x .5mil. I also incorrectly said "they aren't in production"... meant to say they aren't in stock right now. Rokslide crowd is in the know on all that.

hope this helps you guys that are thinking about it.

I already got in on the first batch of scopes…I just wanna know if/what you shot in Africa with that wood .223?

Cliff, thanks for posting the video.

Can you clarify something: how visible is the illuminated dot during the daytime? It looked a lot brighter than I thought it would be, in the segments with it against a white wall under light, as the THLR in the Minox ZP5 is just not visible at all during the day.

It is visible during the day light. It has a bunch of different intensity levels.

I had someone mention to me that the "grey scale" that I mentioned on the night force was actually green for using it with night vision. It may be my colorblindness, but I like that best for low light conditions. I do grant though that this is really splitting hairs.

That's great news on the brightness of the dot, thank you. Hope your Africa trip is an enjoyable and great success.
