I'm shipping my binos to have the Outdoorsmans stud installed, so was curious as to what you guys have found is the most cost effective way to do it. I shipped em to RI for some warranty work last year, and USPS wanted $60ish to do it because of insurance. Just wondering if that's what the piece of mind costs, or if I'm missing a different option. Thanks in advance!

I personally like FedEx for anything that can break. You should ask outdoorsman how they ship them back. I'm sure they have a corporate account and get a good deal but still wouldn't use a service that has had multiple issues.

FedEx was what I used, think fully insured it was $35 or something. Been awhile and have since sold the binos.

I dont trust USPS to get a postcard to my neighbor, and my wife works for them lol. We dont get much fedex service in our area. So ups would be my preference

They have to press in the stud on EL’s, no threads and they are they only ones that can do it without voiding the warranty.

I haven't had any problems to date with USPS, but I don't want my binos to be the start, so thanks for sharing your guys' experience!

Outdoorsmans uses a press (I assume) to install the stud, and it maintains the swarovski warranty.

When I did it Outdoorsmans used FedEx for the return shipping.

I use UPS even if it costs a little more. I have had several lost packages with USPS and incorrect/delayed deliveries with Fed Ex.

Neither UPS or Fedex will give me a shipping quote online, presumably because of the declared value. Guess I know what I'm doing when I get off in the morning!

I shipped mine a few months ago and I used UPS. Mine are 18 years old, just came back from Swarovski where they did a clean, install new prisms, new rubber coating,and realign. I started out trying to insure them for replacement cost and they wanted $70 from Yuma to Fountain Hills so I went down to a more reasonable value and the shipping cost came down too. It took about 2 weeks to get them back, and it’s a really nice setup. Will be using it in a week or so on our javelina hunt down by Tucson.

Sent mine to Outdoorsmans about 2 months ago fedex overnight. With insurance it cost me129.00. They overnighted them back for less than a quarter of the 129.00. I hate waiting and their service was excellent.

Wow that is crazy, must depend where you are located, more rural more expensive. I’m in a suburb of Kansas City and while it’s been a few years I only paid $35ish. When I sent my components for a custom rifle off I used FedEx, again been a few years, was less then $50 fully insured.

I am surprised you guys can't call outdoorsmans and get a label sent to you or a call tag sent out so that you can take advantage of their UPS/FedEx rates, rather than paying what is essentially a broker at a UPS or FedEx store.

Bought a brand new set of els this summer.

Sent them to Outdoorsmans via ups.

Can't remember the expense but insured them to full value. It was pricey but worth the piece of mind fully insured costs.

When considering the cost of new glass and the outstanding mounting system the stud gives the glass it was worth every penny to me.

Shipped my spotter to Swarovski today via fed ex. Insured cost was around $50.00

Ended up stopping by UPS and Fedex for quotes; UPS wanted $105 for ground, Fedex $54. Still a little steep I feel, but well worth the piece of mind. Now the wait for the return... And I like the idea of Outdoorsmans sending labels to save their customers some dough!

Never had an issue with USPS Priority, ever. Always *priority* with the expensive stuff, the less time any shipper has something the better.
