Sherwood Traditional Archery Rendezvous - Roanoke, VA Updated for 2025

Getting field courses prepped and planning a few new target set-ups.
Also, there will be hot breakfast available from the kitchen Saturday and Sunday morning.

I think the kitchen starts serving breakfast at 7:00 and shooter registration starts at 8:00 in the morning.
There will be raffles for a Bear longbow and a Rivers Edge ladder stand. Toughman course winner takes half of the Toughman pot for the weekend. Lots of used bows and gear at the swap/sale.

Hope some of you will join us!

Sherwood Archers appreciates everyone that attended. The people make the event and you folks always make this one a great weekend.
It was a little warm but no thunderstorms. Lots of arrows were loosed and a good time was had.

If I won You can keep my tough man winnings…

Thank you for your generosity!

Unfortunately there was another shooter that managed to squeak out a few more points to take home $120.

Thanks for asking and thanks for posting the dates BowTrout!

Sorry for my delay this year, been dealing with life lately.
I will post the flyer here tomorrow.

This year the PBS will also be holding an Odd Year Gathering at the S.T.A.R. shoot

This year's raffle bow is the new Bear Archery G62 Recurve in 45# draw weight.

Description from Bear Archery site:
The G62 is inspired by the classic 62” Grizzly from the late 50’s and early 60’s. The riser features I-Beam construction, with Chechen (Caribbean Rosewood) for the I-Beam and Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) for the outer pieces. The limb core on the Bear G62 is made from hard rock maple, pressed between two layers of clear fiberglass. The tips are crafted with black fiberglass, allowing use of all string materials, including fast flight. A black cap on the back of the riser adds strength and ties the tips and riser together for a sleek, unified look. This is Bear Archery’s first 62” one-piece recurve in decades, and its smooth, accurate shooting performance will not disappoint.

Would love to have some of you join us for a day or for the weekend!
There should be some good deals in the yard-sale/swap-meet and likely a vendor or two. Lots of opportunity to shoot and a great crowd of people with trad bowhunting enthusiasm and knowledge. The PBS Odd Year Gathering activities offer a nice opportunity to check out the PBS organization and meet some members....and they will have a pile of items (used and new) up for raffle.
