Shed Hunting Sub?

All the Co guys can chat about how all the brownies get goned prior to our May1 start date… or how dudes will come out noon of May 1 with a pack of 40 antlers… and then we can talk about footcare and how to stay mentally engaged when you haven’t found anything for 4 hours…

Finding some unique sheds can be exciting. Probably not enough for a sub section, but I could be wrong.

I used to love it. But it was typically a side quest to coyote or turkey hunting. Now that it’s jumped the shark like so many other things western hunting related and we have a start date ect… I’m not as “into it” I’ll go if I get invited to my buddies ranch but I get the feeling that that the movie YouTube, insta, and talking that gets done the less opportunity I will have…

Where would be a good time / place to go shed hunt on vacation? I can't afford to actually hunt out of state lol

Also I'm from Florida so not really gonna find any here

I tried shed hunting a few times. Find elk in January, find boot tracks may 1. Then I went to a guy’s ranch. Stand in a spot and do a 360 and see sheds everywhere. He didn’t pick them up and didn’t want me to. It was like walking away from a bar full of drunk women.

FYI most of Rokslide hates shed hunters and they crap all over us, it’s a huge argument every time.
I've noticed this. But to be fair, I think most roksliders hate 50% of just about everything based on the posts I've seen on here over that last few years. 🫤

Used to dabble but these days I think it best to give the critters some breathing room to recover from winter before the hikers start bumping them around. These days it seems if your not dogging the critters with a shed dog waiting for bone to drop your going to be too late.

Some are not a fan of shed hunting, that is fine, more for me🤙 It has been one of my passions for 3+ decades. You don’t walk enough and learn their habits, you don’t find them🤣 unlike hunting they never come to you 💯🤙 my 4legged mountain boy are off covering ground in 2025. Have fun and learn the country your in👍

i would love a shed hunting sub. I have found some really awesome elk sheds in some really strange spots, but i rarely find a blacktail shed, which is what im usually looking for :D
