Ok so I have the Lansky system with up to 1000 grit

their website offers 2k and a leather strop

any idea if I need the 2k or can go straight to the leather strop?

Personally I go to about 2000, then strop, although I do go to 4000 a lot as well and strop. I like things to be razor sharp.

That being said my annihilator broadheads are the only ones I cannot get to shave my arm. However I can cut paracord\/d-loop fairly easily with them. All my other broadheads are shaving sharp, those ones for the life of me I cannot get get the to shave my arm. Fantastic head though, tough as nails (i've blown thru a few block targets with one into a railway tie, rocks, etc) and my practice head still looks fantastic and spins.

I also go to 2000 and then strop. Does it matter on a broadhead? Probably not, especially if you are using on one critter and then resharpenning or replacing. It makes a big difference on my EDC knives as far as maintaining an edge in my experience and polishing at 2000 doesn't take very long once you hit it with the 1000 so it's just my process.
