Looking to see if anyone has any experience with an Arcteryx Cerium LT hooded puffy jacket vs a Stone Glacier Grumman puffy. I have the opportunity to pick up either puffy about $100 off. I tried on the arcteryx and it felt SOLID. Like it felt good. Outer material seems thicker than my Eddie Bauer puffy. From what I’ve read the sg seems a little thin. They look comparable in fill weight and overall weight. I think I’m going to try the SG on this week. Downside is the arcteryx puffy is a maroon color. I don’t care about color though. Any advice would be helpful!

I'm curious - what did you need up buying? I like the new vest they have and I'm going with the Cerium vest or the new SG vest....

SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY! I ended up getting the sg grumman jacket. It was a real hard toss up. My wife ended up pulling the trigger for me for my birthday. If I had to do it again I might have bought the arcteryx. The actual shell material on their jacket seems thicker and a little more durable than the SG, more comparable to the back side of SG's puffy pants. If I remember correctly they both have comparable fill and insulation. The cerium fit a little more snug than the grumman. That said I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I would've liked a solid colored arcteryx. This silver on the SG is a little obnoxious.

I remember trying to decide between the two as well, i couldnt find any info about if the down in the arcteryx was hydrophobic or not. I ended up with the SG, the outer material is pretty fragile , i did get a small hole in my chest somehow. Its trade off for being super light though. I do really like the grumman though.

I have the SG puffy as well , excellent weight to warmth ratio but very thin material. A good sneeze and it might tear but mine has held up to a lot of use this past year without a single hole so that’s what counts ! Love
the jacket so I also grabbed a Kifaru Lost Parka for when weight / space isn’t a concern and can save my SG for 10 day trips.

I've run the Cerium LT puffy hoody for a couple years now and have really liked it. It's super light and has good warmth. They used to make a brown color which I snatched up and you might be able to still find out there.

I actually have the same brown in the Cerium LT vest which I've worn a ton in daily life, though personally haven't found the need much for a down vest in the field.

The hoody is basically in my pack for almost all days in the mountains. Combined with my rain jacket (Kuiu Chugach) on the outside it has taken good care of me and is so light that it's easy to bring it along.

I have two Ceriums. One in green and one in brown and for both hunting and backpacking they are great. They pack small and weigh little and have kept me alive in some nasty conditions.

I’ve been using Arc’teryx Thorium AR down hoody and it’s great. It’s not windproof but extremely wind resistant and Arc’teryx claims it’s warmer than the Cerium - it was cheaper also when I bought mine. They now make a parka length as well.

See, I thought that too, but my Grumman has stood up to a couple chomps from our mouthy puppy.
