Having a hard time deciding between the Grumman or the Super Down Pro. I understand there are differences in the material (although not super versed), but if anyone has bought one and wish they had bought the other I’d like to hear. It would be worn on Western high altitude hunts mostly during glassing, with the occasional quick run over to the next ridge. Not concerned about price point between the two, as I’m just looking for the better of them.

Also, I’m a size M if anyone has a used one in Tarmac or Bourbon colors. I’m ready to buy new if need be as well.

I own the Pro but have tried on the Grumman. Biggest difference between the two material wise will be, imo, the Kuiu has a tougher shell over the Grumman hence it weights a little more. The baffles are conversing larger on the Kuiu compared to the Grumman. Does that have a performance difference, not sure. Maybe someone who has both can give you a better review.

Agree with what ringworm said. I have both and the Grumman seems more 'fragile' to me. For your use, I'd go with the Kuiu.

I've had both and for me performance was 99.9% equal and I'd recommend either one without a doubt.

SG fits small around the waist, take note if you're not small in the waist compared to your height. KUIU has more of a standard fit in my opinion. I'm 5'10'' 185 KUIU large fits me perfectly over appropriate layers underneath, SG Large I couldn't even start the zipper, SG XL waist was ok but everything else was way to big.

Grumman has a slimmer fit and is just a touch warmer.

Face fabric is close with the Kuiu being “tougher” but will one jacket rip/tear when other doesn’t? I highly doubt it.

The down quality/longevity so far in the SG has been very impressive compared to most.

I have the Grumman and have put it through it's paces. It's held up nicely with still no rips or tears. I've seen some for sale on here at great prices. Wouldn't hesitate

Eurooptic still has the old colors of the Grumman on sale for $200. That would be my go to. As others have stated tight through waist/hips/seat, room up top for binos under puffy. I wear a large in nearly all kuiu/firstlite and even stone glacier de haviland jacket. In the Grumman, I need an XL.
