SG Avail 2200

What is everyone using there avail 2200 for. Seems like it could be used for a wide variety of tasks. Anyone running them on a krux or x curve as a deer packing day pack setup?

I just bought one off a member to replace my do everything bag. When I get it I will be trying it out on my x curve as a day hunt bag as well. I’m just planning on it being my bag for everything I do besides big game hunting and camping.

I think it's a very attractive scouting/hiking pack. I'd like to see it on a frame too and possibly use as a daypack that's ready to haul out meat

I have one. I purchased it for travel, airports, overnights etc. A also have a MR 3 Day Assault that's advertised at 1800ci. The Avail is a nice pack but it seem smaller than the 3 Day to me. Its also lacking any outside water bottle holders which I miss. I love my Stone Glacier 6200 for backpack hunting etc. For a day pack I like the Tri-Zip of the MR. If I was going to hunt with the pack I would jump up to the 3300 if I could do it over again.

I used one for almost a year as my primary day pack. Didn't hunt with it, just a lot of hiking, from short distance to 18 mile all day trips. I liked the internal organization a lot, but I didn't care for the belt. I have become very used to Kifaru Omni and Duplex belts. I ended up buying a black Kifaru EDC belt and swapped it for the SG belt. Worked much better for me. I was able to set it up with water bottle holders and belt pouches. I eventually put the original belt back on and sold the pack so I could try something else. Long story short, it's a great little pack, and I would probably still have it if there weren't so damn many nice options available!

Waist belt free airtravel, scouting and hiking for day trips, use it as a range bag also to carry my chronograph, spotting scope, and 2 tripods for them along with the rest of my range gear since a chrono and full size spotting scope fill up a regular range bag quick, plus frees up your hands when carrying your guns/stuff from the truck to the bench to shoot. Also doubles as a decent sized diaper bag with the waist belt removed, giving you 2 internal spots for sippy cups/those tall pringle cans of little fella food. Also used it as a ski bag on a couple trips when my BCA bag was left home by accident.

I had one and really liked it as a travel, hiking, scouting, etc bag. Don't think I would use it for hunting per se, but great all around travel / adventure bag. My brother now has it and and uses it for short trips and travel.

I will be running mine this year on an x-curve as a day pack. I had been using a Kuiu 1850 and like rgrmike mentioned, my avail seems smaller than the 1850 was, which kinda bums me out but I can still pack everything I need. I really would like to see water bottle pockets on the outside - I really miss that about the kuiu.

I would probably just get a 5900 and run it as my everything pack, but I like that the avail can be run without the frame for travel and stuff - although I'm not sure a $30 bag wouldnt accomplish that task just fine.

It is a jack of all trades master of non style daypack. It is very good for turkey hunting, carries dead Tom and a shot gun nicely. It definitely has enough straps.

The Avail is hydration bladder compatible - just need the hydro sleeve from SG.

Does a sheep skull make good reference? You could fit a helmet im sure, theres lots of room in the compression straps

I'm using mine off season mainly as a winter daypack- it nicely packs skis/snowshoes/avy shovel and has enough room for a bare bones shelter setup- tarp, bivy, light apex quilt along w/ additional layers and the normal stuff

in the fall I strip the belt and shoulder straps and attach to a Krux frame

I was using a smaller bag (Serac), but it was short on volume needed for an unexpected night out- the Avail fixes that AND gives me a stand alone day pack for winter adventures

I haven't used it as such, but evidently stripped of just the belt it makes a great airline carry on
