Sevr 125 VS 100 grain

Hey everyone. I realize we are on the back end of archery season but I'm thinking about broadheads for next year.

I have used alot of sevr 100 grain heads in the past. I'm wondering if anyone can show me a side by side comparison of a 100 grain VS a 125 grain head. Just curious where they put the extra 25 grains (I'm assuming ferrule). Some other manufacturers (I know evolution is one) go with a steel ferrule in the 125 grain heads and an aluminum ferrule in the 100 grain head.

If you have any thoughts, I'd like to hear them!

I don't have any pics handy - but it's all in the titanium ferrule. The 125 is significantly stronger in my opinion, especially for the 2.0. It has over 25% more grade 5 titanium in it.

Here is a picture of a few ferrules - on the left are magnus heads (the single bevel is 125 grain and the others are 100 grain), center is an older rage 2 blade 100 grain and then on the right, three sevr heads. As you can see - the sevr 1.75 inch hybrid 100 grain has a weak looking ferrule (above the threads). Might not be an issue but just interesting to compare to the others. Even the other two sevr heads have stronger looking ferrules (one is a 2" and one is a 1.5" - they're both 100 grain). I'm guessing the 125 grain hybrids have a stronger ferrule above the threads but I don't know...

I dunno if it's fully relevant to your thread but I'm curious myself after my 100gr 2.0 got rocked by a Nilgai bull spine.

Yessir! Down somewhere around 60-100 yards. Probably got lucky and severed an artery.

I don’t have a 100 grain handy, but they beef up the ferrule below what’s exposed after screwing it into the insert.

@180splitg3 here's your pic of 100 2.0 vs 125 2.0. As you can see, there's a lot more material throughout the broadhead. This is the same for 1.5, 1.75 and 2.0.

If I was to pick a Sevr - it would probably be a 125 1.75" as it would be a little stronger than the 2.0.

keep in mind they use different lengths as well. The 100gr both the hybrid 1.5 and 1.5 are short and stout.
The 125 gr in the same size are even more beefed up.
After a lot of use in all the sizes and models I stick to 1.5 hybrids for everything.
