seperate sleeping arrangements?

Wondering what everyone's arrangements are when hunting with a partner? I'm headed out this fall with a buddy of mine for a 5-7day moose hunt. I usually head out solo, took my girlfriend a couple times last year so they 2 person tent is ok for that
Told my buddy we are bringing separate tents. My thinking is that I would like to avoid the snoring, farting and general inconvenience of two people in a small tent. He thinks I'm crazy, but I've got my setup pretty dialed in so I'm not carrying much.

I'm going with a buddy on a 6 day elk hunt, were taking separate sleeping arrangements. He smells like goat nuts and I snore. So its an easy choice to make. Granted we figured that out from a previous idaho elk adventure but separate is usually better.

Unless I'm going with my Dad, Brother or Wife, I won't share a shelter. Just too many variables to go that route, and a good nights sleep is too important to risk it to snoring/gas/bo.

We always have separate tents that way no snoring,farts and all of our stuff is not crammed together making the tent smaller.

Learned it the hard way 6 years ago!! Always sleep in seperate tents! You cant hunt hard with little to no rest..

For me it depends on who I'm hunting with. A three man or bigger shelter usually works well for two guys. My brother, best friend and I all shared a 12x12 tarp a few years ago on a six day hunt and it worked just fine.

I think the SL5 will work well with two or three guys too.

This year I'll pretty much be using my solo tarp on all my back country hunts. I'm a little scared to sleep with littlebuf!

I share my spire 2.1 with my hunting partner, and my Mt shelter LT. I have no issues with that my hunting partner is my best friend doesnt smell too bad and I can sleep through anything. If I'm going solo I usually just use my bivy and no shelter which makes the shelter seem pretty nice even with two full grown dudes....

This is my first year backpacking in to hunt. I told my two friends that they need their own tents. I have a small 2 man and its for my gear and myself.

Having separate shelters is also good for spitting up mid hunt if someone want to spike out in a different area.

You need the "holes to holes" or "poles to poles" policy to avoid accidental spooning.

If using a floorless you could always wait till your buddies asleep and move the whole thing. When he wakes up you can claim he rolled out.
