Selling Used Suppressor in 2026?

Oh it isn’t finalized yet; he’s getting his fingerprint cards & already did his passport photo, and we filled out the paper Form 4. Once I have his fingerprint cards we’re gonna mail it off.

Wish we could do eForms though. I’ll be sure to post up with how it all turns out, if it gets approved before June I’ll be surprised. But what do I know? First time doing paper forms.

I thought I had read that an individual can do a eform 4 now.

I thought I had read that an individual can do a eform 4 now.

Week or two back when I researched it there was nothing indicating that was the case. ATF website doesn’t say it either. Could be, but nothing we could find showed it.

An individual can do an eForm, but as far as I know only when being transferred to that individual by an SOT.

Finally got time to read into this…

Found posts on Reddit showing that the ATF planned on moving fully to eForms in 2026, leading to speculation that individual to individual transfers would be able do be done that way too.
Followed up on that and it was from a proposed rule change by the ATF for Form 1 (applications to make/register a firearm), not for the Form 4 process.
Went on the ATF website and scanned through the federal register, saw no mention of any change to the individual sale process.

For now it seems like a proposal taken out of context ginned up the rumor mill for all us lowly plebs. Unless there’s something I haven’t come across it looks like individuals selling suppressors still have to submit a paper Form 4 in state and have to utilize an SOT to sell one to a person in another state.

Guess I’ll be mailing this off soon after all…but my buddy doesn’t mind, almost every time he shoots it’s with me anyway. He won’t skip a beat. Other way around though, I’d be coming out of my skin.

Wanted to post for everyone here. Per our side convo, I dug into the FAQ section in my eForms account and it did in fact seem like individual to individual sales can happen. Then I sent an email. Just heard back.
