Selling Used Suppressor in 2026?

If Congress was going to repeal the NFA they would already have done it.

I've put my money on them reintroducing the $200 tax stamp at a much higher fee rate. IMO this administration and the Republicans in the house and senate are intentionally not making long term changes. All of these Executive orders are short term and will be repealed when we lose the White House.

I agree. It still wouldn’t shock me if the outcome of all this is a higher tax stamp and a larger ATF.

Edit - my line about Congress repealing the NFA was a joke. Our legislature hasn’t done anything worthwhile in at least 50 years.

Scythe TI assuming it’s still intact by 2026 😆

My first can from a decade ago is a Saker 762 at 22oz. Bought it for a short barreled 6.8 build that I sold off. It’s a beast, I’d sell it but don’t think it’d be worth it. On the bright side it’s a SiCo product I don’t have to worry about blowing up, and resides on my whitetail 308.
Ha! Same cans I plan on selling.

The $0 tax stamp wasn't made by EO, it was part of the Big Beautiful Bill.
I'm aware of that. It's another example of Republicans short stroking us. That $0 tax stamp wasn't a win for us.

If you're going to quote me, quote me without editing out the context.

ETA- Perhaps I shouldn't be annoyed and dissillusioned with Republican control of the House, Senate and a Presidency unwilling to lock in lasting change in lieu of photo ops.

Are there any downsides or risks to buying a used suppressor? Do they have a "shot count" like barrels do?
I mean do they accumulate carbon, yes. Do you get baffle erosion? Maybe - depends on firing schedule and use.

I’ve had suppressors professionally that had many thousands of rounds in them (KAC NT4 and surefire RC2s). I don’t know other than weighing them how effective (or ineffective they were) but they kept ticking. My personal suppressors don’t see near that abuse but I would venture to say most guys aren’t abusing their suppressors, or shooting them nearly as much as. If they are on a bolt gun, I most certainly think they wouldn’t have any real issues.

If someone did a number of magazine dumps in one and got the temperature up over 800 degrees, the titanium could be weakened. A suppressor can survive abusive that in the short term, while being weaker in the long term.
