Seekins Rebarreling

Any rifle builder that has a lathe can put a barrel on a Seekins...it's not proprietary or something unique. Rifle #1 that came out of my lathe I built for my Dad years ago. I built on a Havak action I got somewhere. I was less than impressed with the sleeve in the action but it's a shooting son of a gun. What sort of pissed me off about them is they wouldn't sell me a bdl bottom metal setup...said they only produced enough for their in house rifle builds and I would have to use a DBM. I actually don't remember why I couldn't use something else...might've been the inlet in the stock I bought for him or the feedrails on the action but it was something.

Good luck, if you want a new barrel someone local will do one for you...might not be 500 bucks though.

How do you guys get a hold of Seekins? I have left threw messages (3 Mondays in a row) with Customer Service and have yet to get a call back.
I emailed them this afternoon because I kept getting an error pop-up when trying to place an online order. They called me within 20 minutes. One thing that’s left me scratching me head on the ph2 barrel thing is why they didn’t make the barrels 100% interchangeable. I asked about a 25 creed barrel that’s offered on ph3 NRL & was told my ph2 barrel would fit a ph3 but a ph3 wouldn’t fit a ph2 action.

I think they completely re tooled. Their new chassis stock was not compatible with the ph2 models. That was my final straw with Seekins. There are no chassis or any stocks available and their own chassis won’t work on older models so I moved on.
This is not true. The new chassis will fit the ph2.

Then they changed it because at one point they were very clear that it would not fit.

No matter though, I’ve happily moved on from that rifle and have no regrets.
Interesting. Well anyway just to update folks from this thread. Yes the new chassis they just released will fit the ph2, older elements, and rem700 actions etc…
