I'm one for one with a dynamite 300WM. I do hate the stock and mags, but that's getting fixed with a manners eh1 and hawkins m5.

What don’t you like about the mags? Is it function or COAL? Thx.

I did everything Seekins suggested and more also tried different shooters. It cost me a lot of time and money to go through that head ache.

Had a similar issue with a 300wm. I'll give them credit for making it right. Part of me wishes I would have asked them to buy back the replacement rifle they sent me after it didn't shoot well. I wasn't willing to deal with the time/money on a 3rd one so I had TS Customs chamber a bartlein carbon barrel for it instead of sending back to seekins and it shoots awesome now.

I'm a fan of the stock and bottom metal/carbon mag.

The new bolt runs much smoother for me but I did get this in a PM on snipershide from a guy having trouble with his bolt. Really hoping to not have similar issues:
Was going through some threads and observed your post on your Havak bolt upgrade. Was wondering if your upgraded bolt from Seekins is still performing well. Two weeks ago I purchased a Havak Bravo in 6.5CM. A few days ago shot first 3 rounds through it. The bolt somehow became decocked when I removed it. When I tried to cock the bolt it came apart. I shipped it back to Seekins for repair and bolt upgrade.

A friend of mine bought one identical to mine 4 days ago. He shot 1 round through it and the bolt locked up in the action, couldn’t remove it. He shipped it back to Seekins today. Both of us spent close to $2000 on these rifles. So far not overly excited about our experience!

Function. The COAL is great.

The mag that came with it would never feed the second round out, then the replacement completely dropped out after every shot.

@wind gypsy and I have discussed our havak's quite a bit over PM. He did go through the ringer with his 300WM.

We also discussed the bolt upgrade. I ultimately decided the original (60% cock on open, 40% cock on close) was smooth enough and reliable enough for me in hunting scenarios. Tool-less disassembly is not really a selling point IMO, rem700 disassembly tools have been around for some time.

I like the stock as well. I did put one of mine in an XLR magnesium chassis and it is awesome. I had one issue with my PH1’s carbon magazine. I sent the gun in and Seekins fixed the issue and sent me a another mag in the mail. It has worked flawlessly ever since. I think it’s impossible for any company not to have some issues pop up but it’s how they deal with it that really matters. Their customer service is as good as it gets.

Agree on the issues, and the customer service.

I'm certainly in the minority on the stock. Honestly, part of it is aesthetic - I don't like plastic (other than tikka factory mags).

My only complaint about the stock (and mine might be their first gen, post game warden, PH1 stock) is the LOP is too damn short and I'm seemingly too stupid to figure out how to get the butt pad off to insert spacers. I've never struggled with this on any other stock.

I have a havak PH2 that shoots fantastic - I’ve posted about it here. I don’t like the plastic stock or carbon mags though, but that’s being remedied as I wait for a manners eh1 with an m5 bottom metal inlet.

That said, I would not want a sub 6# 22” win mag. You’re neutering it at that barrel length unless you’re a savvy hand loader, and it’d be zero fun to shoot without a huge brake.

I think the element makes sense in short action, lighter recoiling cartridges. 308, 6.5cm, 6.5prc.
That's why I went with the PH2 in 300wm. Don't mind the extra weight and makes it much more palatable to shoot.

My ph2 shoots great in 300 WM.

Normally around 1 moa with anything I feed it, but loves 185 berger hybrids and will shoot .75 5 shot groups with them

Just received my Havak Element in 6.5 PRC that I purchased off Gunbroker. After extensive research, this is the gun that I will pack for awhile. 5.5 lbs is one of the lightest guns you can buy especially when you consider the stock ergonomics.

I must say this gun looks awesome and feels great in the hand. I do wish they had a picatinny rail up front instead of the stud, other than that I like everything about it so far.

Put a Salmon River Solutions rail up front and you’re good to go. I have one on all my hunting guns and can’t say enough good things about them.

@big217boy Did you end up getting the Element, and if so, how is it? I am looking for a lightweight rifle in 7 PRC, and I'm looking at the Seekins Element.

Way Overkill I haven’t picked one up yet. Think I might go with one in 7 PRC and running a TBAC 7 on it.
