Seekins Chassis now available

I left a message with Seekins asking what the minimum barrel length is on this chassis. If they tell me it'll fit, I'll probably order one for my 12" .308 700cp and also my PH2 in 300wm that I plan on chopping to 20"

Hopefully we can run the seekins carbon fiber mags
Do they make AICS pattern carbon mags? the one I had on a PH 300WM was not AI pattern. I believe the same is true with the 6.5 PRC mags. So its either carbon or AI pattern unless something changed with M3 that i'm not aware of.

They make a carbon short action AICS mag.

Curious of 2 things.

1) Will the bolt clear the folder. I have to assume they checked…..but looking at my folders downstairs it will be tight.

2) I wonder if their other CF mags will work with their chassis. I need a PRC variant so their marked AICS one won’t work.

It’s appealing.

Does this have a 'mini chassi' or will it require bedding? I was holding out for a manners ppfa, but with this being half the price, I think I'll grab one to try out

I was told by a buddy that went to the expo that it does indeed have a mini chassis. I went ahead and ordered one on back order. Will report back when I get to play with it a bit. As previously stated, this could be an affordable folder alternative. Hopefully they release their bag rider soon too

(TLDR; yes) From reading what Glenn has said in the Facebook group it’s a true chassis. Meaning that the mlok forend is directly attached to the “bottom metal”, grip section, as well as the folder. The part that looks like a stock are actually just bonded “skins” like the older Accuracy International chassis.

Just got notified that a dealer has them in stock. I’m torn between throwing the chassis on my ph2 with a proof barrel or selling my setup and just buying the new mountain hunter.

If price is similar, I'd go for the mountain hunter. It's a pound or so heavier but the action is noticably better than the prior. The action on my element hunter is significantly smoother than my PH2, and the reduced bolt throw has been awesome. It also shoots every bit as good and is more versitile overall with the quick-change barrel capability.

I played around with it at the expo. The hinge seems very solid. The chassis is well built.

I just hate pisol grips.

I just wish it came with different barrel length options. I have a proof 16.5 inch on my 6 creed and absolutely love it. I’m not sold on going back to a 20 inch.

Can you use any ar grip or are you stuck with the seekins one? If you could swap I wonder what their grip weighs vs the smoke one for XLR or MDT carbon one

So curious about the same. I did go mess with one at Scheels yesterday and it “appears” to have the same interface thru the grip to allow swapping. Hopefully someone else who’s done it will weigh in.

The folder doesn’t “lock” like someone I believe mentioned earlier. That said it is very stiff, much more than any other I’ve handled. I measured how much width it saves folding over the bolt, appears to be about 1” narrower vs ones that fold opposite the bolt.

I figured I would drop this picture in here. I’ll try to go into more detail and answer questions as they come up. Sorry if I’m a little slow. If you have felt the slam chassis, this is gonna have a similar feel they do the carbon a little different than the slam I think much like the element hunter the configuration I got from them to test came in right at 32 ounces and the folder is solid probably one of the features I love the most about it and the fact that it collapses over the bolt still I am able to run AICS magazines what is that including their carbon magazine that they make.

Any grip. I run an the MDT CRB grip on mine.

The folder locks when extended, and unlike the XLR folder, it is rock solid.. I'm not familiar of any folding chassis that also 'locks' folded. The seekins however is extremely stiff and takes intentional force to extend it from folded. As you said, it sits flush with the bolt so when folded it is extremely narrow in profile.

I haven't played with the Gunwerks Endex but otherwise, the Seekins folding mechanism is head and shoulders above the XLR, MDT HNT 26, and Manners folder mechanisms.
