I rebarreled a Savage 110 to 270-08. 1:8 twist 3 groove. I plan to load 120gr, 130gr and 150gr bullets. I’m using small primer Peterson .260 Rem brass with necks expanded to .270. The primers are CCI 450.

Is anyone here loading for the wildcat 270-08 and willing to share their experience and data?

have not done this but I would probably just use 7mm-08 starting loads for the same weights and add 0.5gr. Or split the difference for the 6.5CM and 7-08. I would probably start with Varget.

I played with a necked up 6.5 case, found the 130s about perfect in it. I used a mid charge of 6.5 Creedmore 130 data and just loaded one up to get velocity readings and once there was no soot, I'd add a grain and call that my minimum, working north until I saw pressure signs, back down and shoot for groups. My data is at home but when I get there I'll send you what I've gotten. Mid 2800 with 130s was easy and accurate. Just wasn't enough for me to really want to keep at it. It didn't do anything better than anything comparable. It wasn't bad at all, and I enjoyed the project. I can still spin the barrel on and load up a few sub moa rounds, I had great luck with the 130 Ballistic tip.
