I am not sure if this belongs in the "Lightweight Zone" section or the "Backpacks".
From a hunting perspective, this is a lightweight styled pack, with a robust suspension. The only disadvantage is that you have to top load your meat into the main bag (which your have to do with a lot of packs), and honestly, after all the effort of butchering an elk on a 40 degree hillside, a little more effort to top load boned out meat isn't a big deal. This pack can easily carry a tripod using the bottle pocket / bachelor buckle combo on the side, and a 50 mm - 65 mm spotter is easy to fit in mesh rear pocket. Internal capacity is 4500 CI , and the mesh / bottle pockets add a fair bit more volume. You can strap stuff to the top and bottom if you need more space, and it compresses small.
We used the previous version a fair amount during hunting season this year, and carried out game, and honestly, I would not hesitate to use it myself for any deboned meat in the bag type of hunting. Since it is XPAC, you can easily wash your bag in a creek if you desire to get the blood off (simply take bag off, flip inside out, wash, wipe dry).
Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy
