Ok going to order a new shelter for up coming elk trip. I've narrowed it down between the cimmaron or the sl5(big Agnes yahmonite ). I would like to use with a stove part of the time.

Sl5 $330 with full nest
Cimmaron $400 with stove jack

I have no experience with either. What do you guys suggest

The SL5 is going to be tough to find. It took me quite awhile to find one. I really like it though. Plenty of room and the nest is a nice bonus. I'm planning on getting a stove jack installed in it.

Have had both and there is no comparison IMO, the SO Cimarron is much better built and the layout feels larger plus the two doors are much more user friendly. Spend a tad more and get the better shelter. Plus the SL5 is made in China while the SO is made in Colorado.

BA just rebadged the old Chinese go lite inventory, it was a good option a few years ago but the SO is better. The nest in the sl5 isn't needed and I never even used mine when elk hunting.

This. SO will be better built and has really good customer service.

I was actually looking at these two options as well. Gonna stick with my first choice and order the SO Cimarron today.

I don't know how they stack up on specs, but I really like my Cimmaron. Have 10-15 nights in it this fall, and really like this for a larger shelter. Mine was a hair over 47oz right out of the box (with stove jack and stakes), and total weight at 54oz when I added a Ruta Locura carbon pole and guyout line.
