My RCBS die is leaving marks around Berger Hybrids when seating. What die or seating stem should I be using?

Can I put VLD micrometer from Redding in my RCBS seating die?

I have the VLD stem for my Redding die, no marks on the hybrids.

Ordered a Forster Ultra that is supposed to work for both VLDs and regular ammo.

What’s your neck tension? Only time I’ve ran into marking my bullets was with new Peterson brass with way too much neck tension.

Call RCBS and order a VLD seating stem. They will have you send them 3 of the bullets you are using then they will custom fit a stem to that bullet. Is your seating depth consistent? I am guessing the stem is grabbing the bullet too high.

I seated one bullet and stopped. So I can’t speak to consistency yet.

Measure the OD of a piece of brass, then measure OD of a loaded round. Difference will be your neck tension.
