Anyone have experience with a good wood sealer for utility trailer wood floor?
Pressure treated pine. The last time I replaced the wood flooring (no sealer) was about 10 years ago but maybe that's all the longevity I should expect.

10 years is about max on pressure treated pine unless you keep the trailer out of the elements. I’ve got an aluminum decked trailer now, but my old trailer had wood and I would mop it with a mixture of used motor oil and diesel fuel, would soak it up good.

Have you looked into manufactured decking material. From my understanding it is virtually maintenance free.

Don't forget to do the bottom. I use a bug sprayer with regular fence stain sealer, Have'nt replaced a deck in over 40 years. I do it once a year for about $20 bucks. If I scuff it up real good I will do it sooner. I keep my trailers under a carport to keep the sun off them as much as possible. I have been looking at those Aluminum trailers nice, but spendy. $10k for a carhauler?

I don't know what size/axles you're looking at... But my steel/wood trailer is going for almost $8k these days.

Same thing I do. A little flexible on the diesel part sometimes. Lol

Bought my 18ft tandem 2 3500lb axles $5180 out the door in 2021

I just bought a 2021 Lamar 23’ deckover 14k gvw for $7k, looks new. New price is $10,500 on same trailer Bout 10 years ago could have had it new for 5-6.

Diesel & motor oil for deck

Dirty motor oil is great for the wood decks. Try a piece and let it sit outside to prove or disprove it to yourself.
Man, I see a few folks are using old motor oil for sealing decks. Get caught doing that in Comifornia and you stand to lose your first born, $1 billion $ fine and execution, but not before being tortured by forced watching of Brokeback Mt.

Messmers UV Plus works ok on hardwood decks. We used old motor oil on all the farm trailers wood decks. It recycled the used oil and protected the wood decks that were outside year long exposed to elements.

I’ll retreat mine this year. I bought it new in ‘99 and have never changed the wood out. All treated lumber ain’t the same. The stuff at Lowe’s ain’t as good as the yellow wood treated wood that I get from my local owned hardware store.

Timing works well for me.
I'll be changing oil on tractor and zero turn mower soon. Thanks.

Used motor oil then coat the whole thing in sand. Been doing this for years. Works great and doesn't cost anything.

Spray it on thick and let the heat bake it in. Bugs wont touch my rough cut after I treat it with motor oil and it protects it from the weather.

I spray my stuff every year for the first 3 years then once every 3-5 years after that.

Overkill? Maybe but so are 8"X8" posts and homemade hurricane straps for a deer stand....lol

I use a paint sprayer and a pancake compressor, but an airless sprayer would be wonderful.....I'll buy one someday.

This is hat I’ve always used as well. Works good on the truck frame too.

Whatever you do, make sure it’s not slippery!! I would rather replace boards every 10 years over falling when it is wet and slippery!!
