So you've been scouting all summer, you've located deer, but nothing worthwhile and the season arrives! You have other areas in your' unit to check, but you have never been there before. What do you do? Do you hunt the areas that you've seen deer but no good bucks(Yet?) or do you move on to the new areas hoping to find a keeper? Just hypothetical of course....

I move on to a different area. If I don't find a shooter while scouting I doubt one is going to show up unless pushed there from other hunters.

I go else where in the unit. You can always come back but its tough to hunt hard if you don't believe there is a shooter around

OK, so let's say you find a bruiser(Not just a shooter) through your glass while archery hunting. He is unaware of you, obviously you are there to hunt so do you put a stalk on him and hope it works out or do you wait for rifle season and a better chance at nailing him the first shot?

Go for it. You never know who else may find that buck and put a successful stalk on him before the rifle opener.

If the wind and approach is right, get after it! Where he is in August might not be true for October.
