Scoped Rifle Case Recommendations

Howdy folks.

I’m curious what y’all are using for rifle cases. At the moment I’ve got cheap Allen scoped rifle cases that sorta work, but are a dang tight squeeze. I’d like to move to something with more breathing room than the Allen allows for.

I’ve got a Savior Equipment case for my AR, and I’ve been happy with it, so I’m considering their single rifle case. I figured I’d ask the ‘Slide what you all prefer.

My primary use is bringing the rifle to the range and in the rig to the trailhead. I don’t need drills, though a spot to stick a box of ammo or two would be handy. I’d also like to spend sub-$100 on it.

I'm, a big fan of hard cases that I can throw in the back of my truck.

Its $200, but I use a Pelican Vault V800. It can carry two scoped rifles and is pretty darn tough.

For under $100 I'd be looking on your local facebook marketplace for a hard case, there's some deals to be had.

I like my hard sided ones for flying or long trips, for truck bed storage. Shorter trips don’t warrant em, IMO. Great call on the local search, I’ll do some looking there as well.

The linked Midway one looks like a good buy. I've got a little more complex drag bags from them that work well. I also have a GAP/Armageddon gear Suppressed rifle soft case that's nice but 3x the cost and I dont think id get it over the midway one if buying now.

I definitely prefer light soft cases for range trips. Usually because i bring 3+ rifles and hard cases just get heavy and bulky.

I have cheap fabric zipper cases. The rifles get treated gently and placed into the back seat. Not throwing my gun in the bed of a truck to bounce around. It is a "precision tool" and is treated as such.

OP, I have two of these in different sizes. One thing I will point out that I found to be a HUGE bonus on an Elk hunt this last trip is the fact that it has two zippers. I remove my suppressor for travel and fits nice and short in the short version (20" barrel) but don't want to remove it and reinstall constantly while hunting. With this case I'm able to leave the suppressor sticking out the front of the case and zip the rest of the rifle in from the rear. I hung the case from my gun rack in the buggy and slapped it in there because they're required to be in cases in ATV/UTV. I have a few other branded cases that I like better for fit and finish and comfort but none of them would have worked in this scenario as they all have a single one way zipper that ends at the butt.

Those midway cases are nice. I have a midway canvas drag bag that will hold 2 rifles and a bunch of other crap if you so choose. I like it a lot.

I posted the Apache before I knew you wanted a soft case, but another vote for the midways. I have their shotgun bags and they're excellent quality for the money.

I have a Cabela’s soft rifle case,

Works pretty good but not quite long enough for a suppressor to stay attached on a 22” barrel.
